Fertilizer industries have a great demand of nitric acid for manufacturing of fertilizer such as ammonium nitrate, calcium ammonium nitrate, etc. Nitric acid is also used as explosives, example UAN, which is an unstable compound. Other industries such as paints, dyes, textile, etc. uses stable compounds of nitric acid, ex. nylon 6.6. Nitric acid is used as an oxidizer in rocket propellants.

Sulphuric acid also known as vitriol is a colourless odourless and syrup liquid that is soluble in water and is synthesised in highly exothermic reactions.

Sulphuric acid is a key substance in the chemical industry and mostly used in fertilizer companies. It is also used in pulp and paper industry, tall oil splitting and p-H adjustments. In the process of refining crude oil sulphuric acid acts as a catalyst. Acetic Acid, also known as ethanoic acid is an important of the carboxylic acids. The chemical formula of Acetic Acid CH3COOH. It is completely soluble in water.

Amines

Mono Ethylamine is an organic compound having chemical formula CH3CH2NH2 . It is a colourless gas at room temperature with a specific ammonia like odour. It is insoluble in water but an organic solvent.

Mono Ethylamine has its use in herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals synthesis. It acts as a substitute for ammonia in hair dyes.

Di Ethylamine is an organic compound with chemical formula (CH3CH2 )2NH. It is flammable, weak alkaline liquid which is miscible with most of the solvents. It is colourless but commercial samples appears brown due to impurities.

Di Ethylamine is used by plywood and paper manufacturers. Also used in paint industries for wood stain and varnishes.

Tri-Ethylamine is a colourless volatile liquid with a strong fishy odour. Its chemical formula is N(CH2CH3 )3

It is commonly used as a base in organic synthesis of various compounds like ester, acyl chlorides. Tri Ethylamine is used as a flavoring agent in food industry, as catalyst and intermediate compound in manufacturing medicine, pesticides and other chemicals.

Di-Ethanolamine is often abbreviated as DEA, having chemical formula HN(CH2CH2OH)2. Its pure form is a white solid at room temperature but has tendencies to absorb water to be supercooled. It falls under the category of weak bases.

It is used in manufacturing of household products such as soaps, detergents, general adhesive, etc. Diethanolamine can be used in cracking of coal, oil gases. It acts as an emulsifier and dispersing agent in agriculture chemicals, pharmaceutical and cosmetics.

Triethanolamine is a colourless compound with chemical formula N(CH2CH2OH)3. It may appear yellow because of impurities.

It acts as a pH regulation agent and has its application in cosmetics and medicine. Triethanolamine is used as a complexing agent in electroless plating. It has its application in other processes like cement producing, ultrasonic testing, holography, metal degreasing, etc.

Sodium carbonate, NA2CO3 is commonly known as soda ash, is a water soluble salt. It falls under the category of strong base. Soda Ash comes in two forms i.e., Light & Dense form.

Soda ash is one of the main raw materials in glass manufacturers. It is the key raw material used by glass manufacturers & by detergent manufacturers. Soda ash has its use in food additives as an acidity regulator and stabilizer. Sodium bicarbonate commonly named as baking soda, is a salt composed of sodium cations and bicarbonate anions, having chemical formula NaHCO3. It appears white crystalline solid compound & highly soluble in water.

Butyl Cellosolve belongs to family acetate of 2-butoxyethanol having chemical formula BuOC2H4OH. It is a colourless liquid having sweet, odour and a very cheap solvent of low toxicity.

Ethyl Cellosolve is a common trade name for 2-Ethoxyethanol having chemical formula C4H10O2. It is a colourless, odourless, liquid solvent which is widely used in industrial applications.

It provides high solutions clarity, good thermal stability, thus used in multi-purpose cleaners, waxes, grease, varnishes, printing inks, etc.

Chlorides

Calcium chloride CaCl2 is a very common chemical used in day to day life. It is a white coloured crystalline solid at room temperature and highly soluble in water. Calcium Chlorides comes in three forms i.e., Lumps, Prills & Solid form.

It acts as a de-icing agent, thus used in various chemical process to lower the freezing point of compounds. Dimethylformamide is a colorless liquid with a fishy odor. The chemical formula of Dimethylformamide is C3H7NO. It is an irritant and hazardous chemical compound.

Dimethylformamide is soluble in water, hence it is used by industries as a solvent for many manufacturing processes. It is used in the formation process of aldehydes. It is used widely by pharmaceutical companies as a general solvent due it’s highly solubility tendency. Due to high inflammability of Pure Acetylene gas cannot be compressed and stored safely. Dimethylformamide is used during the compression of acetylene which helps in forming stable safe acetylene solution.

Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether or PGME is an organic solvent. The chemical formula of Glycol Methyl Ether is C4H10O2. PGME has various industrial applications. It is used as a solvent paints and coatings industry. It used in manufacturing of writing/printing Ink.

Di Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether is a solvent and has similar properties to Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether. The chemical formula of Di Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether is C7H16O3.

The DI Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether has similar uses to Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether. It is used as alternative to PGME as it is less inflammable.

Sodium benzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid having chemical formula as C7H5NaO2. It is extensive used as a food preservative.

Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizing agent and is used by PVD coating industry for removal of coating of tools and components and re-coating the same with precious metal. Liquid Ammonia is a compound of hydrogen and nitrogen having chemical formula as NH3.It is compressed liquid with pungent smell.

Liquid Ammonia is used as raw material in synthetic fibers, nitric acid production, nitrogen-based fertilizers, etc. It is also used in pharmaceutical products and commercial cleaning products.

Isocyanates

Toluene di-isocyanate has chemical formula CH3 C6H3(NCO2). There are six possible isomers of TDI, of which two are commercially important. They all are colourless but commercial product may appear yellow.

TDI is extensively used in the production of polyurethane primarily used by mattress industry. TDI helps in producing lighter material in automobile industry, manufacturing of coatings, sealants, etc.

Methyl di-isocyanate abbreviated as MDI have three isomers and its chemical formula is C15H10N2O2.

MDI is widely used in production of polyurethane for many applications. Polyurethane is primarily used as insulation for domestic machines like refrigerator and other industrial machinery. It is also used for cushioning in sportswear, footwear, and other leisure products. MDI is also used in a binder for wood to produce mould cores for the foundry industry.
